Tutoring Services

Whole Families offters individualized tutoring services.

Pricing is negotiated on a case by case basis.  I have a BA in Education, with additional coursework in architecture and engineering.  My more recent personal experience includes:

Stay-at-home mother of two children for more than 6 years.

Homeschooling mother of two children:  In second grade, my son progressed from requiring significant IEP services, to performing above grade level in math and reading on standardized testing.  My daughter entered public school kindergarten at nearly the maximum score for reading.  Our curriculum was designed for their individual needs and interests; accommodated differences in their ages and strengths; and included a lot of creative real-life learning experiences, free play, and activities in the community.  My children enjoyed learning, took independent responsibility for their own achievements, and were proud of their accomplishments.

Volunteer tutor: I tutored elementary school children in the Spring of 2012 through Reston Interfaith.  Ninety percent of participants in the program showed improvements between the first and third quarter.

Addional experience includes back-up child care and mothers helper care.
